Announcing Your Captains!
Blue Team -- Jack Lubin: Over the past year, Jack has kept to a strict dietary regimen in preparation for Color War: 6 chicken nuggets for breakfast, 12 chicken nuggets for lunch, and 18 chicken nuggets for dinner. Dangerously on the verge of becoming part chicken, he will stop at nothing to win the games.
Pink Team -- Marlee Goldstein: The most recent scouting report is flush with rumors that Marlee's 2025 ACL surgery was all a rouse and that she was actually outfitted with bionic joints. Athlete by day, bride by night, her one goal in Color War (aside from bringing home a victory) is to avoid a sunburn ahead of the main event.
Orange Team -- Caroline Ellis: Dont let her perfect blonde blow out fool you. Marlee's college roommate is a stone cold killer. After coming in second place in Vanderbilt's freshman ping pong tournament, she is back with a vengance to reclaim her dignity, legacy, and a title even more impressive: Camp Jarlee Color War Champion.
Green Team -- Joe Hong: Investigative reporter Joe Hong normally spends his time digging into the seedy underbelly of the American Math educational system. He has spent weeks calculated the odds of a green team victory and conservatively forecasts the outlook as "favorable". He will push his team to combine brains and brawn in each and every match up.
Brown Team -- Matthew Frank: Marlee’s cousin, Matthew, will be the only former professional athlete on the pitch during Color War (autographs $5 each). Having also won farthest traveled, jet lag will be his greatest weakness. But don’t be fooled. He will devour the competition quicker than a hot shawarma fresh off the spit.
Purple Team 1 -- Bill Goldstein: Most people who know Marlee’s dad know him as an easy-going dude. What they don’t know is that he lead the Leonard Elementary School’s floor hockey team to a hard fought, brutally won championship victory as captain. The hunger for winning has coursed through his veins ever since, something that will be sure to emerge during Color War.
Purple Team 2 -- Steve Kavy: Jack's family friend is a pulmonologist by trade. While on the surface this may not seem relevant to Color War, he has engineered a way to increase lung capacity beyond normal human limits. His sky high VO2 max will surely present an advantage this Color War. Find him on the tennis court after the war.
Red Team 1 -- Charles Lubin: Jack's dad, Charles, is like a Formula 1 racecar, if its high octane fuel were actually McDonald’s sweet tea. Get out of the way or get run over. He brings his team a cool under pressure and calculating mind that seeks to outfox his opponent.
Red Team 2 -- Robert Goldstein: Marlee’s Uncle Rob has been preemptively voted as most likely to argue with the refs. If he brings half the amount of energy to the Color War field as he brings to arguing with his neighbors over noise ordinances (evidence: ring camera footage), his team will be a formidable opponent to anyone who gets in their way.
Yellow Team 1 -- Carol Lubin: Jack's Mom, Carol, is feared on the pickleball court and revered on the golf course. Her recent Hole-In-One has only heightened her athletic confidence and she aims to win the games in honor of her (2nd?? favorite) son: her 14 year old daschund, Wilson.
Yellow Team 2 -- Diane Goldstein: Marlee’s mom Diane’s competitive advantage is her ability to plan ruthlessly. Rest assured, her team will have a 15 step path to victory outlined, communicated, and implemented before they even step on the Color War field. Invincible on the surface, her focus can only be wavered by the presence of a Mah Jongg game or puzzling competition happening off to the side.
